Privacy policy
This site is being run by one person—me, Kate—using Wordpress. I don't understand the internet nearly well enough to write a comprehensive privacy policy.
And yet Google tells me I should have one (to rank better in web searches), so, here we are.
I'm using a paid theme from Thrive Themes with a bunch of plugins. Presumably all these services are collecting cookies. Which cookies? For how long? I don't know. I strive to choose reputable service providers, but I can't guarantee anything.
If you provide your email, I will store it in a spreadsheet. It is also stored in Mailerlite, my email-marketing tool. I'm collecting email addresses for the purpose of writing a book. (I need to be able to say to a publisher, "I have a mailing list with X subscribers," because non-fiction agents/publishers aren't interested in anyone without a platform.)
I will never spam you or sell your email address.
I'm figuring out the rest as I go.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Media
If you upload images to the website (such as in a comment), you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
